Experience
I attended the School of Visual Arts to earn my BFA in illustration and cartooning. I earned my Teaching English as a Foreign Language, or TEFL, certificate in Costa Rica. The experience taught me a great deal about learning and teaching languages to others. I can work with students of all ages and skill levels, both in groups and on a one-on-one basis. As an instructor, the student's understanding is my top priority. I strive to determine their skill levels before developing a learning plan to ensure success. I build upon their knowledge to help them master each concept before moving on to the next. It is important that each student not only learns what they need to succeed, but also that they know how to use it. I offer tutoring sessions for a variety of subjects, including English, drawing, Spanish, and ESL/ELL. I also offer test prep sessions for those gearing up for AP, ACT, SAT, and other standardized exams. I believe that learning additional languages opens new doors. I strive to offer engaging and creative lessons. When I'm not teaching, I love creating cartoons and animations. I enjoy learning new languages, playing pool, swimming, and reading in Spanish and English.
